What does it mean to be a girl? It seems the more thought you put into this question, the more complex the answer becomes. In this show, we explore the ideas of what it means to be both a woman and a girl stepping into your future while carrying pieces of our past selves. While this can be overwhelming at times, there is a deep beauty in this as well. Just as young women find comfort in experiencing everything new about the world together, their future selves also find comfort in reflecting on memories with one another, even if some things are tough to look back on. A true coming of age story, WHEN WE WERE GIRLS, provides a peek into life through the feminine lens and celebrates the thoughts, ideas, feelings, and experiences which are so unique to girlhood and being a woman.
