Frequently Asked Questions
Third St Theater’s hourly rate includes the following:
- Access to the Auditorium, Large Outdoor Patio Space, and Greenroom
- Basic House Lighting and House Sound Package (Please see inventory sheet)
- One (1) Theater Technician to be utilized in ONE of the following departments. Lighting, Sound, House Management. Additional technicians and stage hands are available at an hourly rate.
- Basic Marketing Package
Third St Theater’s seating capacity is 216 (176 floor level. 40 balcony). The Greenroom can accommodate up to 25 performers. Additional classrooms are available at an hourly rate.
Phoenix Center for the Arts/Third St Theater is located directly in front of the Margaret T Hance Park Parking Lot. The parking lot can hold 180 vehicles. Please note that although we encourage you to use this parking lot, it is public parking and owned by the City of Phoenix. Parking spaces may not be blocked off, or held, and may be unavailable due to Hance Park programming. Additional parking can be found on Moreland Street, Phoenix Library, and Grace Lutheran Church.
We encourage you to sell non-alcoholic beverages, snacks, merch, etc. Merchandise staffing is available at an hourly rate.
Phoenix Center for the Arts/Third St Theater does not have a list of preferred vendors. You are welcome to hire your own so long as they are licensed and operate within Arizona State food handling guidelines. Please note that it is USER’s responsibility to clear all food trash.
Bar services are available at a $100 fee. The fee includes bar setup/teardown, and bartending service for the duration of performance. Phoenix Center for the Arts’s liquor license allows for the sale of single-pour items only (beer and wine). A contractor of Central Arts Alliance (Phoenix Center for the Arts) must administer and supervise all pouring and sales of alcohol. Please note that profit sharing is not permitted.
You may apply for your own Special Event Liquor License through the city of Phoenix. Please note that 60 days notice is required.
Phoenix Center for the Arts/Third St Theater does not facilitate ticket sales. Rentals with Third St Theater do include an event listing on phoenixcenterforthearts.org/events, where a hyperlink to your ticketing 3 provider of choice can be inserted. Box office staffing is available at an hourly rate.
Third St Theater requires a signed Space Usage Agreement, and certificate of insurance. Please see insurance requirements:
- USER must provide CAA with a certificate of insurance naming CAA and the City
of Phoenix as additional insured for (a) commercial general liability of no less
than one million ($1,000,000.00) dollars per day for the duration of Term of
Agreement; (b) workers compensation and Arizona disability insurance covering
all of USER’s employees.
Payment schedule is as follows: 50% of grand total is due within 14 days of execution of Space Usage Agreement. This deposit will secure the date. 25% of the grand total is due 60 days prior to the day of the event. The remaining balance is due 14 days prior to the day of the event.
Upon execution of the Space Usage Agreement, you will receive an email from Central Arts Alliance. This email will include a Quickbooks link for easy online payment via debit or credit card.
Other forms of payment are available upon request.
Our Campus Manager is available to perform tours of the space and answer any questions. Appointments should be made in advance, as we are unable to accept walk-ins.
