ONLINE: Self-Discovery through Poetry
Date: January 06, 2026 6:00 pm - February 24, 2026 8:00 pm
Location: Phoenix Center For The Arts
Available Slots: 1/6
Description: Self-Discovery in Poetry welcomes writers of every background - the seasoned poet seeking new roads to travel, the beginner trying to find their voice, and the curious student simply wondering what this poetry thing is all about and what it might reveal. Through prompts, readings, and conversation, we'll explore how poetry helps us uncover the parts of ourselves we don't always allow to reach the surface. Together, we'll discover that poetry is all around us - and especially within us - and we'll practice bringing that reality to the page.
By the end of the course, students will:
- Find comfort with the written word, wherever it takes them.
- Explore how personal experience, memory, and observation can inspire poetic expression.
- Discover and practice poetic techniques that deepen clarity and imagery.
- Learn to transform raw thoughts and feelings into crafted language.
