Trans Queer Pueblo In collaboration with the Consulate of Mexico in Phoenix, invites you to Queer ARTivismo, a cultural festival where all funds will be used to provide resources and support the movement for justice for the migrant, LGBTQ+, and community of color in Arizona.

Postcards of Resistance

Postcards of Resistance is a Mexico - Phoenix co-production by Realidades Asimétricas, Las Desmadrosas and Trans Queer Pueblo, which premiered on November 17, 2021 at the 3rd Festival de Creación Hormiga organized by Centro Cultural El Hormiguero.

This documentary theater play is the result of a scenic laboratory process based on the stories and experiences of Las Desmadrosas, a group of mothers, migrants, indigenous people and theater activists who are also members of Trans Queer Pueblo, an organization that defends the rights of LGBTQ+ people in Phoenix, Arizona. Phoenix, Arizona. Las Desmadrosas creates spaces and bonds of support, in addition to being a breeding ground for leadership that empowers the community to liberate their bodies and minds from the systems of oppression.

Voices of the Desert – An Unconventional theatrical choir – presents “Love is Love!” This is a multimedia, fun, singing, and dancing show that showcases healthy relationships within the community. It showcases many couples (and singles) and the success of their relationships whether part of the gay or straight community – All accompanied by popular music and dance, featuring songs like; Miley Cirus’s “Flowers,” “One Call Away,” “What About Us,” “A Thousand Years” and the theme song from the Golden Girls, “Thank you for Being a Friend.” Join us this weekend in the newly renovated Third Street Theater at the Phoenix Center For the Arts, and see all the new progress that is being made to enhance your entertainment experience.
