The Arizona Women’s Theatre Company produces contemporary, provocative and thought provoking works written by women playwrights and directed by women directors. We provide an innovative forum for women’s voices.
Annually AZWTC produces a series of 16 new works from a call for scripts that can exceed over 45 plays. Each are adjudicated by members of the entertainment community, each play is read by 3 different judges.
The production event takes place over 3 evenings and 1 matinee–no play is presented more than once. These are staged readings with imaginative settings, props and costumes. Yearly there are returning playwrights, directors and actors. These plays frequently are seen in full productions elsewhere.
