Join underwater Photographer Samantha Schwann for a presentation of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Revillagigedo Archipelago, as part of her long-term photographic project on oceanic Hope Spots. Hope Spots are ecologically unique areas of the ocean designated for protection under a global conservation campaign overseen by Mission Blue, founded by Dr. Sylvia Earle with her 2009 TED Prize Wish.
The Revillagigedo Archipelago is a small chain of volcanic islands 370 miles off the coast of Baja, Mexico, and has recently become the largest marine sanctuary in North America.
A stopping point for many pelagic animals upon migratory routes, this location is a hotspot for close interactions with several large Shark species, as well as the incredible Giant Manta Ray, Dolphins, Turtles, and Whales.
