A play written with and about incarcerated youth in Arizona

Lisa just got there. Jasmine thinks she’ll be there forever. Ricky doesn’t really want to make different choices. Xavier is afraid of what might happen when he leaves. Through the perspective of four different teens, we get a glimpse of what it means to be a young person in jail.

Rising Youth Theatre worked with incarcerated youth in the state of Arizona to create this original play that shares the stories of some of these young people. What happened to get them there? What are their lives like? What do they hope for? And what happens once they are released?

Written by nationally recognized playwright José Casas (La Ofrenda, Somebody’s Children), aDoBe is a play about justice, a play about choices, and a play about being stuck in a system.

This show is appropriate for ages 14 and up.
