Through a combination of field studies and still life drawings, you'll practice drawing a variety of subjects, from simple objects to more complex compositions. You'll develop your understanding of form, texture, and composition, and learn how to set up your own still life at home.

By the end of the class, you'll have not only improved your technical skills but also created a portfolio of your work that showcases your artistic growth.

Description: It's a bird! It's a plane! It's a kumquat! Or whatever character you dream up. How would like to create a character for a video game, an animated TV show or a comic book? What about creating more than one? Then this is the class for you! Under the glow of fluorescent lights you'll learn how create a character and how to draw them in different poses and from different views.

Have you created a character already? Bring in a few samples and we'll try to develop them more.

Materials: Students will need 6 light red, 6 medium blue and 6 black color pencils; 8.5" x 11" copy paper (at least one side blank) and a tracing paper pad 8" x 10" or 9" x 12".
