Writers to Authors : Making Adult Authors Anthology

Description: "This eight-week course is designed for writers, poets, and journal-keepers who are ready to take the next step toward authorship. Together, we’ll transform raw writing into polished, publishable work and collaboratively create an anthology that highlights each participant’s unique voice. Through creative exercises, editing workshops, and guided discussions on theme, structure, and submission, students will gain both the artistic and professional tools to see their words in print.
By the end of the course, participants will have a curated selection of their own work prepared for inclusion in a class anthology and a concrete plan for their next steps as emerging authors.
Preferred Schedule: 8-week block (Winter/Spring 2026)
Ideal Class Size: 6–12 students (allows for individual feedback and group cohesion)
Supplies Fee (optional): $10 per student to cover anthology printing costs
Facility Needs: Classroom with whiteboard, tables/chairs, and projector or screen (for sample materials)
Final Output: Collaborative anthology (digital or printed chapbook) produced by the class
Public Component (optional): End-of-session reading or open mic event hosted at Phoenix Center for the Arts"
Materials: Laptop, Journal, Pen and any place to keep dedicated works together for the anthology.
Access to digital documents (Google Docs or Word)
Optional: past writing or journaling entries
