Presented by Trans Queer Pueblo

Join Performance in the Borderlands and Trans Queer Pueblo for a night of ART, CULTURE and QUEERNESS at our First annual Queer ARTivismo on July 28 at 6:00pm at the Phoenix Center for the Arts 1202 N 3rd St. Phoenix AZ.

Trans Queer Pueblo continues the queer legacy of using art to communicate messages of hope and resistance and engage the Phoenix community. The event will be a cultural festivity and fundraiser to continue to provide autonomous, community-generated resources for LGBTQ+ Migrants and BIPOC in Arizona.

“Encantos: Cuentos de Valentía” is a sharing of resilience, pain, joy and stories of growth. In light of ongoing attacks against women and LGBTQ+ people, the event will center the stories of struggle and triumphs of Trans and Queer BIPOC communities in Phoenix and the Southwest. BIPOC, women, migrants, femmes and LGBTQ+ people are in a constant fight to access the right to make decisions over our bodies and lives. Laws, stigma, violence, and fear seek to control our bodies starting at birth and steal the ability to dream and create a world where we can live full lives. “Encantos: Cuentos de Valentía” invites you to create a world beyond these limits in community through art, and celebrate the right to Self Determination.
