ARTIST STATEMENT
Leonard Wilson is an Arizona native that fell in love with oil painting at an early age. Wilson attended Phoenix Union High School shortly after Phoenix public schools were desegregated. Although Mr. Wilson considers himself a “self-taught” artist, his work can be found in many private collections.
OPENING RECEPTION
Friday, August 5, 2022 from 7 to 9 p.m.
Meet artist Leonard Wilson during his First Friday opening reception of “Invariably Cool”. The reception is free and open to the public with live music, and art available for purchase. Enjoy live music by Keith Johnson, a multi-instrumentalist with special focus on the music of West Africa and the Caribbean. In addition to being a highly sought-after performer, Mr. Johnson is also an instructor. He makes many of the instruments that he shares with audience participants and students by hand.
