“Growing Wild Totems” – A Ceramics Workshop with Sandra Luehrsen

We’ll build botanical themed totem sculpture in this fast paced hands-on workshop. You’ll get ideas for totem bases, midsections, and finials. You’ll also get a list of hardware for rigging the finished sections. Luehrsen will show you how to make flowers, fruit, or your own botanical hybrids that can be used in your sculpture. You’ll also get glaze ideas for adding color to your clay surfaces.

Sandra Luehrsen was born in Chicago, Illinois. She earned Bachelor and Master of Arts degrees at Northern Illinois University and a Master of Fine Arts degree at Arizona State University. In 1999, Luehrsen left a position as assistant dean of the Graduate College at Arizona State University to start her own art business. She teaches three-dimensional design at Mesa Community College in Mesa, Arizona and presents
workshops.
