Meet artist Sebastiao Pereira during his opening reception of “Ex Nihilo”. The reception is open to the public for FREE, and art is available for purchase.
ARTIST BIO
Sebastiao Pereira was born in Brazil and educated in the United States. The artist has a long list of solo exhibitions and numerous juried local, state, national and international competitions. He has shown his art with the American Watercolor Society in New York, Watercolor USA at the Springfield Art Museum in Springfield, Missouri. His work is highly respected by other artists and has been selected by many well-known artists as part of juried competitions.
“Ex Nihilo” is a Latin term that literally means “from or out of nothing”. Collage is derived from the French word coller which means “to glue.” Sebastiao Pereria is a master of Ex Nihilo creativity.
Utilizing scraps of paper or square paint samples he creates photo-realistic portraits of people he knows and admires.
