In 1966, a journalist hears rumors about the mistreatment of patients at the mysterious CaZo Asylum. Interested in learning more about the mental illnesses that plague the all-female institution, the journalist enters the Asylum with the intent of bringing attention to the asylum’s retched conditions, not to mention the disturbing behaviors of the staff. But what she ends up experiencing is far more than she bargained for.
Inspired by the true life events surrounding Whittingham Hospital Asylum in England, as well as niche films and television shows that include American Horror Story: Asylum, Requiem For A Dream, Hannibal, May and Black Swan, Asylum ’66 uses contemporary and Jazz dance styles to tell an emotionally captivating story that will make you laugh, cry, cringe and feel utterly disturbed. As CaZo Dance reveals the truth behind mental health care circa 1966, you’ll learn that if you’re told your crazy enough times, you just may start to believe it. This is a show you will not want to miss!
