Teen Artist Guild

The Teen Artist Guild is a program founded and produced by Phoenix Center for the Arts. It is guided by an Advisory Council of art industry professionals who believe that career development is a crucial element of art education, and whose goal is to mentor teens who are interested in pursuing a career in the Arts.

MORE ABOUT TEEN ARTIST GUILD:

The Teen Artist Guild (TAG) provides a forum for teens to explore visual arts career paths, and create their own path to a thriving career as an artist. Teens will meet guest artists from the professional art world, attend lectures and tours, try out new art methods, network, and learn how to market their artistic skills.

Monthly meetings, including the guest artist lecture series, are held at Phoenix Center for the Arts every third Saturday, unless posted otherwise on the TAG Facebook page. Additional workshops, classes, or art shows may be offered throughout the year.

The Teen Artist Guild offers teen artists many opportunities to show their work. Young artists will have practical experience preparing their art for shows and learn a variety of skills including:

• Preparing calls for artists
• Meeting deadlines
• Naming and pricing items
• Matting & framing
• Discussing and planning events
• Volunteering for art shows
• Promoting shows
• Curating art shows
