Phoenix Center for the Arts and Flamenco Por La Vida are proud to present Phoenix Festival de España, a new celebration of Spanish Arts & Culture, March 22, 2014, from 12pm-9pm.
Phoenix Festival de EspañaPhoenix Festival de España, sponsored in part by Phoenix Remezcla, will take place in the heart of the Downtown art scene at Phoenix Center for the Arts (1202 N 3rd Street) and will feature Flamenco workshops for youth and adults, delicious Spanish food, presentations on Spanish culture, live performances and more!
Dance and music groups from throughout the Valley will perform in 30-minute intervals throughout the day on an outdoor stage. Local and nationally-acclaimed Spanish historians, scholars, and curators will present lectures and workshops with a Spanish flavor. The Festival will also feature art exhibits, costumes, jewelry, and a beer and wine garden.
Admission is FREE for the whole family. The night will be capped off with a performance by Nationally Acclaimed Flamenco Artists at the Third Street Theater. Tickets are required for entry into the show and cost $15 each (or pay what you can). The well-known lineup of guest artists includes dancer Elena Osuna (Albuquerque, NM), singer Vicente Griego (Albuquerque, NM), guitarist Gabriel Osuna (Los Angeles, CA), Macarena Giraldez (Sevilla, Spain) Mele Martinez (Tucson, AZ), Jason Martinez (Tucson, AZ), Compania Flamenco Del Pueblo Viejo (Tucson, AZ), and Angelina Ramirez of Flamenco Por La Vida (Phoenix, AZ).
