Student Art Series

Three times a year, Spring, Summer, Fall, Phoenix Center for the Arts invites students to show their talent and what they are learning in classes at the Center. Students may enter up to three (3) pieces of their art to be part of the Student Art Series shows. Artwork is showcased on the walls or in display cases throughout the Visual Arts Building. Best-In-Show wins a free art class and Best-In-Category and Honorable Mentions are recognized with certificates during the Opening Reception.

  • Join us for the Awards/Opening Reception: First Friday, October 7, 2022 from 6 to 8 p.m.

STUDENT ART SERIES FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHO:  All adult students (ages 16+) who were enrolled in the designated Semesters listed in the call for art may enter artwork.

WHAT:  Artists may enter up to three pieces of artwork from classes they were enrolled in.

WHERE:  On display in the Visual Arts Building.

WHEN:    Application deadlines and shows listed in call for art.

WHY:       Showcase artwork to friends and family AND a chance to win a FREE art class for Best-In-Show!

  • Additional prizes for Best-In-Category:
  • Ceramics, Glass, Metals & Jewelry, Mosaics, Painting, Photography, Painting and Drawing
  • Opportunity to sell artwork
    • Artwork will be available for purchase through the Center’s Square Online Store
    • Interested buyers may purchase works through the online store, scan a QR code to make an online purchase, or stop by the front desk to make a cash purchase.
    • All purchased art stays in place until the end of the show.
    • If artwork is sold, the Center will email the artist to collect a W9 form.
    • If artwork does not sell, the Center will schedule a time for pick up at the end of the show.
    • The week after the show, the Center will provide pick up times for buyers to collect their artwork.
    • The Center will mail checks for artwork sales within two weeks of the end date of the show, minus a 10% administrative processing fee.

HOW MUCH TO PARTICIPATE:

  • FREE for Phoenix Center for the Arts Members to enter up to three pieces of artwork.
    • Not a Member yet? Join for as little as $60 a year! Membership includes:
      • Early registration for classes – two weeks prior to the general public.
      • Included entry into upcoming Student Art Series Shows.
      • An invite to our Members only events.
      • As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, memberships are 100% tax deductible!
  • $25 for Non-Members to enter up to three pieces.

DETAILS:

  • Prizes are announced and awarded at the opening reception.
  • All 2D artwork must be ready to hang.
  • Artwork must remain on display for the duration of the show.
